The finishing touches are being made to the urban green park near the buildings by the green market.

    🌳

The landscaping of the area near the building complex by the city green market in Kriva Palanka is in its final phase, and soon the citizens will receive a modern, urban green spot that will enrich, green, and beautify the space that has been unused and non-functional for decades.

The Mayor of Kriva Palanka Municipality, Saško Mitovski, today inspected the on-site works of the “PARKS” project and announced that the activities on the ground are in their final phase, where a park is being arranged over a total area of more than 2,000 square meters, and the surrounding space is being beautified, which will completely change the appearance of this part of the city.

This location will become a place for recreation and enjoyment for the residents of the building complex, all citizens of Kriva Palanka, and visitors from different generations.

Within the “PARKS” project, landscaping is being done on 1,800 m², with an investment of nearly 240,000 euros out of the total approved 388,000 euros for Kriva Palanka from the IPA INTERREG 6A EU Program for cross-border cooperation between North Macedonia and Bulgaria.

The activities of the project include: landscaping a new green park with horticultural features, creating the first green cadastre for the urban area of Kriva Palanka, installing a sensor to measure air quality, conducting a pedological (soil) analysis, preparing a plant cultivation manual, as well as training the population in growing ambient plants.

The Municipality of Kriva Palanka is investing additional funds for landscaping to achieve an eco-green transformation and complete beautification of the urban area because the citizens deserve it.

“PARKS” represents a project with a comprehensive vision that goes beyond ordinary green space creations. It is a synthesis of infrastructure with innovations, advanced technology, air quality sensors, and real-time analytics—sustainability of the urban landscape. The project is implemented as a partnership between the Municipality of Kriva Palanka and Dupnitsa, aiming to preserve areas through regional knowledge and sustainability. The total value of the project amounts to 895,000 euros.
